Located in the heart of Igel, Kebap Haus Igel is a charming Turkish restaurant that offers an authentic and richly flavored culinary experience. This unassuming yet inviting eatery serves up a delightful array of traditional Turkish dishes, with a special focus on kebabs and döner that have clearly won the hearts—and taste buds—of locals and travelers alike.
Step inside, and you’ll immediately detect the enticing aroma of freshly grilled meats and warm spices filling the air, beckoning you to indulge. Kebap Haus Igel’s menu boasts a wide variety of offerings, from succulent doner dürüm and generous kebab platters to inventive spins like pizza and schnitzels—perfect for guests looking to explore beyond the classic Turkish fare. Vegetarians are also well catered for, with thoughtfully prepared options ensuring everyone leaves satisfied.
One particularly memorable highlight is the doner dürüm, praised for its freshly baked bread crafted on order, which creates a nuanced and utterly satisfying texture. According to frequent patron Martin Willem Schmid, it’s “the best kebab/doner for miles,” served at incredibly reasonable prices where two people can enjoy a hearty meal and drinks for around €15—a testament to the restaurant’s fantastic value.
The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with friendly, professional staff who enhance the experience with attentive, genuine hospitality. While the exterior might appear modest, customers are urged not to be deterred; the warmth inside and the delicious food more than compensate for any initial impressions. Convenient parking is available just across the road and behind the building, making it an easy stop if you’re exploring Igel, especially after visiting the iconic Roman funeral monument nearby.
Whether you’re a local returning for the familiar comforts of your favorite Turkish kitchen or a traveler passing through, Kebap Haus Igel offers a memorable, satisfying meal filled with rich flavors and generous portions. It’s more than just a kebab house; it’s a welcoming culinary haven where every bite tells the story of time-honored tradition and culinary passion.

We stopped to watch the roman funeral monument. Food was ok and staff friendly. Don’t hesitate even if the house looks old from outside.

One of my favourite restaurants to go to. Wide variety of foods including but not limited to different spins on the favourite kebab (teller, durum etc.), pizzas, schnitzels, vegetarian options for those who want it and more! The food is very delicious and never disappoints. The staff here is also nice and professional. There are a couple parking spaces across the road and behind the building. The restaurant itself has around 8+ tables but takeaway food is easy and accessible. Definitely reccomended to anyone who likes kebab or good food in general.

Turkish kebab house. Kind owners and worth the cash for the plate of a döner, a huge portion of cheap meat and salat. Pizza ordered from here is also a good choice on a lasy lunchless noon. If you are on your way via Igel and you are hungry, I definitely can suggest to stop by.

Ordered a Doner Durum. One of the best I’ve eaten in my life. The bread was made on order in the oven which resulted in an extremely differentiated and amazing Kebab experience.
